To summarise, there are numerous positive impacts educational APP bring to student as well as negative. Application usage in 21st Century is essential and applied widely in education. By using APPs responsibly and being aware of issues it can lead to, student can take an action beforehand. “A clever person solves a problem. A wise person avoids it” (Albert Einstein).

In recent research article published in July 2022 it was stated that one of the advantages for student is none-attachment to a certain location (Shokirovch, 2022). Meaning, student can be in learning process not depending on location. This factor brings a huge positive impact in education application future. It leads to accessibility of any education worldwide. Important advantage is getting familiar with technologies. For students who had not have an opportunity to study in so called “technology advanced world” as we live in now, for those people it could take time to adjust to technologies used daily at work, home, and studies. However, students who studied using APPs are prepared for modern world. One of the issue students can come across during increased usage of applications is increased screentime. It can lead to screen addiction, increased risk of obesity, sleep deprivation and so on (Sultana, et al. 2021). To monitor screentime, student could implement time management to create a balanced lifestyle, therefore, reduce possibility of being affected by high screentime. It is important to recognize the issue before it develops in more serious ways. Lastly, students are less socialising. “The lack of in-person communication is a problem that appears to be increasing with younger generations” (Loveless, no date). It is well known that human beings are social species and socialising is essential to us, spending excessive amount of time on APPs can lead to decreased socialization which can lead to decreased confidence. Students might be unprepared for face-to-face conversations and develop social anxiety or other related disorders, therefore, it is essential to estimate screentime and act accordingly.

Advantages and disadvantages of using software applications in education.

Usage of application has significantly increased since worldwide pandemic COVID-19, therefore, it is useful to know impacts educational applications (APPs) has. “Educational APP refers to the application programs of intelligent mobile terminals that provide educational learning resources for various learners, which mainly carries educational information” (Tang, J. and Hai, L. (2021). Main positive effects such as portability, availability and getting familiar with technologies, could increase the popularity of this form of study, however, there are serious consequences to consider. Negative impacts including increased screentime and isolation can lead to issues in the student’s future. By understanding importance of advantages and disadvantages, student can prevent the negative side and improve positive impact educational applications holds. The purpose of this essay is to show how educational application use affects students.

"Application- A program or group of programs that is designed for the end user. Application software (an application) is a set of computer programs designed to permit the user to perform a group of coordinated functions, tasks, or activities. Application software cannot run on itself but is dependent on system software to execute." (Sant, 2015)

App or an application is a major part of modern life and we cannot deny that. As an example, let's have a look at the Top 10 most downloaded apps worldwide in 2021 posted in Forbes website, specifically, pay attention to the numbers of how many people downloaded the app.

App purpose can be entertainment, shopping, studying, travel and so on. However, my major project will be focused on apps for students, of its advantages and disadvantages. I am a student and there clearly is an advantage of being a student in 21st Century, however, as English writer Alan Moore once said "Technology is always a two-edged sword. It will bring in many benefits, but also many disasters."

There are numerous apps for students, and I believe each university or collage have their own "favourite" app. In DMUIC one of the educational applications we are suggested to use is called Brilliant, and in fact, DMU has personalised portal and mobile app designed to support students while they study.

It all sounds very helpful, and it is in many ways, but now let's think of "disasters". How does having almost everything in a form of app affects student social skills, confidence? What about overall health? More about advantages and disadvantages of using apps designed for students I will discover in my next 3 posts. I'm interested in this topic, because I was a student when applications did not have such a huge impact in our life's and now not only that I am a student who decided to study Computer science but also, I'm considering full-stack development as a career choice in the future. With all that, to be a successful in my choice, and one day to be able to deliver a good product to the costumer I have to consider all aspects.

Let's talk about data science! In this post you will read what is Data science, where it is used, what is the top one programming language for data science and why, and finally,  what are 6 data science components.

So, what is it? And where it is used?

Data science, also known as date-driven science, blends various fields with the help of mathematical calculation to predict future behaviour’s, patterns and take out useful information (Banton, 2021).

Data science is very useful and becoming very popular to use in businesses, as you can measure and track costumer behaviour towards your service or product and study the market. As well, as it can help you in reqruiting the best fit for your company, find target audience, help understand your product/service better. Data science is good to include as a tool towards decision-making processes. However, misused data can be very harmful to people, community, country, and that is one of the disadvantages of data science. (Benefits of data science, complete guide, 2021)

Top one Programming language in data science.

One of the most used programming languages in data science is Python. Characteristics that make it a foremost used tool are as follows:

    1) Language is easy to learn and use.

    2) It can combine different tools and offers unifying ground for different languages.

   3) It is cross-platform, meaning it can run o many platforms, Windows, Linux, and Mac OS.

   4) Uses minimum memory to run and has good memory management (Boschetti and Massaron, 2015).

I started to learn Python and found it easy to understand, code is clear and in small amounts, if you ask me, I strongly recommend Python language. 

Data science components. 

If you are considering learning data science you need to know about 6 necessary components in data science, and these are: big data, probability and statistics, data types, mathematics, machine learning and programming. (Bansal, 2020). (More about each component you can read in AnalitixLab website, look below for more details.) These are one of the things you need to know if you want to learn Data science. 

I believe that data science will progress in the future and will be considered as must have, as it can save a lot of time and money for businesses.

I t is a free website where you can create your timeline for your project. I am using it for the first time and I am very pleased with the results. Now I can easily follow my progress and see if I am keeping up with the plan. For me it is very motivating as I want to be up to date with my project.

Software & Hardware skills

I learned basic computer skills in school and at my previouse work place I was mainly working with Microsoft office. I applied for Computer science course online in edX back in 2019 but found that it's complicated to study and build my career in two completely differnet industries, so I left studies unfinished.

However, after my decision to leave my job, I started to learn Programming with Python language in Codcademy and in edX. I'm listnening to podcasts linked to Python, such as Talk Python to me, where podcast host covers wide array of Python topics, what helps me explore this field.

I belive that anything you learn, especially if it's connected to study course you have chosen will eventually help you to succseed.

In DMU even skills I have now will help me as we are using computers daily. As I came to study, I will be adviced and any question I have will be answered.
